  1. All earlier versions of Merck Index CDs never asked for Serial/Passwords.

    After Installation, software creates local port. When computer is online, by default, query is searched on internet also. Keep modem switched off and program will find data only from local port on computer.

  3. The serial seems to no longer work. I typed in as given but I got a message saying that one can no longer use this trial (or something like that)

    It still needs an activation code to unlock totally; however, some of the tables can still be used.
